Feeds

Feeds are how your community reads itself: streams of posts gathered around a topic, a hashtag, or a group of people.

Choose the people, then shape the feed

A group is the people; a feed is the posts. During feed setup, choose an existing group or create a new one. You can use the same group for several feeds without managing the members separately in each. Public readership and group membership are different — see Groups & feeds for examples.

• Create a feed with a name your members will recognize.
• Shape it with hashtags — choose which tags a post needs to show up, exclude ones you don't want, and cap how many are required to qualify.
• Control who sees it — mark it public for anyone, or keep it to your community; toggle it active once it's ready.
• Watch it perform — see the posts flowing through, how many members it reaches, and how active it's been.

How members find a feed

Creating a feed doesn't add it to anyone's home screen. Members find it through:

• An invite link. Share one from the group's page. People who join the group can open the feed.
• Your community's profile. Members open your community's profile in the app, choose the feed, and can pin it for easy access.
• Your app's home screen, on plans with app branding. On Resources, pin a feed for people who join later, or list it in the Feeds tab.

Private member feeds are in beta. Only people in the group can read them. Posting, commenting, or liking posts requires an account hosted by Blacksky.
